Seeking volunteer artists for Art in the Pages mini statuettes

Hello Artists:

The Fairfax Library Foundation is pleased to partner with the Fairfax County Public Library and Signature Sponsor, Verizon, to bring the first public art project, Art in the Pages to Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax!  This special public art initiative is increasing the awareness of the joy from public art, highlighting the creativity of local artists while spotlighting the delight of literature and reading.  Information about the large scale Art in the Pages project is available on our20website at www.FairfaxLibraryFoundation.org .

Thanks to ExxonMobil, a limited number of mini replicas of the 4 foot tall open book statues will be auctioned with proceeds benefitting library programs and services through the Foundation.  Auctions may include an on-line version as well as a silent auction at the final Art in the Pages reception to be held at Gannett on Saturday, September 20th.

You are invited to voluntarily share your artistic talent by designing and painting the plain white 5 1/2 inch high open book statuette.  Your generosity will be recognized as an in-kind donor to the Art in the Pages project and via a special invitation to attend the final auction/reception event!   Blank statuettes are available at the Library Foundation office.&n bsp; Once completed, they should be delivered to the Library Foundation office no later than Friday, September 12th.

If you are interested in participating in this unique opportunity to participate in a highly visible public art sculpture project by volunteering to create a work of art from a blank statuette, please contact the Library Foundation by e-mail info@FairfaxLibraryFoundation.org or phone 703-324-8300 while the supplies last!

Thank you,
Martina
