Artists 18 years or older residing in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia are eligible to enter. All work entered must be original 2-D or 3-D. Reston Century T-Shirt Art Competition
Reston Century T-Shirt Art Competition is calling for art. The Reston Bike Club is offering cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the competition. The winner's artwork will be featured on this year's T-shirt, which goes to approximately 1,200 participants in the Reston Century bike race. There will be sales opportunities as well. Artwork submitted for this year's competition should carry a theme which identifies it with Reston and cycling. Deadline is July 15, 2009. Call ArtSpace at 703-956-6590 for details.

2009 Herndon Festival Booth and Children’s Hands on Art is a Big Success
The Council for the Arts of Herndon Board of Directors would like to thank all of our volunteers, the Herndon Festival organizing committee, and our faithful customers for another successful Herndon Festival fund raiser. We could not have done it without our wonderful volunteers who worked tirelessly to man the taps and serve food. JJ Deli provided their 'Best of DC' pulled pork and brisket sandwiches again this year. Special thanks goes once again to Jan and all the other stalwart volunteers who return year after year for multiple shifts. To all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun filled four days, please know that the 2009 festival beer booth would not have been a success without you. The Children's Hands on Art was once again free to the public and there were many smiling children. Special thanks to Kathy and Grace.
